I’ve been in love with books for as long as I can remember — quite literally since I was four years old. My mom ran a daycare out of our home, and while she was busy teaching the older kids how to read and write, I was supposed to just play quietly. But I didn’t like being left out (still don’t, honestly).

So, I begged to sit with the “big kids.” My mom eventually gave in and started teaching me, too — and that’s where my love for reading began. Some of my favorite childhood memories are of family trips to the library, where I’d sit for hours on those little beanbag chairs, completely lost in a story. Or staying up way past my bedtime, reading under the covers with a flashlight, thinking I was being sneaky. Spoiler alert: I wasn’t fooling anyone.

My mom was also an avid reader — I honestly don’t think I ever saw her without a book in her hand. She inspired me in more ways than she’ll ever know, but one memory stands out. I was young when she came home one evening, grinning ear to ear, and told my brother and me that she had something special to show us. She pulled out a hardcover book… her book. It was a project she’d written about our family heritage for one of her college classes, and she’d gone the extra mile to have it printed and bound.

We were stunned. My brother and I screamed like wild banshees, “I want to publish my own book!” That was the moment I knew — I didn’t just want to read stories, I wanted to create them.

Since then, writing has been my way of exploring the world, sharing my voice, and connecting with others through the power of storytelling. My dream isn’t just to be a successful author, but to write stories that matter — ones that make readers feel seen, understood, and inspired.

And maybe, just maybe, there’s someone out there who will pick up one of my books, fall in love with reading the way I did, and decide to tell their own story too.
